Wedding day

The thought of a pricey wedding day can set our financial alarm bells ringing. However, it really doesn’t have to be that way. There are many ways to reduce the cost of your wedding, and stretch your budget as far as it will go, whilst still making sure that it’s the day you always dreamed of.
Top Tips
- Try using the internet to save money. It’s a good idea to use price comparison websites before buying anything – you will be surprised how often you can find it cheaper or how often there is a discount voucher code available that shops won’t tell you about.
- Take time to plan in advance. Think about everything you might want to include on the day, as well as all your advance spending, to ensure you plan your budget to cover everything – you don’t want to remember something at the last minute and realise you don’t have the money to cover it. Read magazines and chat to friends to make sure you’ve got all your ideas covered.
- If you have friends with talents, see if they’re able to help out with DJ-ing, photography, flower arrangements or baking your cake to help save some money. This will also mean your friends feel included in preparations for your big day and will help keep costs down.
- If you’re determined to have a designer dress check out sample sales to find your perfect dress at a reduced price.
- Consider which day of the week you want to get married. If you’re relaxed about it you are likely to find lower rates for venue hire and photography on weekdays rather than at weekends.
